“Absolutely spectacular, Incredible attention to detail”
My partner and I stayed at this hotel for our anniversary. I emailed the hotel before to let them know it was a special occasion just to see if they could pop a card or something in the room. The hotel's communication was fantastic, and I received a reply almost instantly.
To begin with, the hotel is in an excellent position. It was a mere 1 - 2 minute walk from Union Station, so we were able to drop off our luggage straight away and start exploring Washington. It is also very near the start of the Mall, so a great starting place to begin the day.
The lovely lady who checked us in (sadly I can't remember her name but I believe it began with D) was absolutely perfect. She was warm and friendly, congratulated us on our special occasion, and informed us we had been allocated a beautiful room (and it truly was). She was very helpful and seemed to genuinely enjoy helping people. Such a lovely woman.
The room was spotless and beautiful. Clearly recently renovated. The bed was the best we have ever slept on. The thing that REALLY made it though was the card. Our Happy Anniversary card had been signed by all of the staff, not just one staff member. This level of detail is something I have never experienced and we were absolutely blown away by this special touch. They even left us some (seemingly expensive) chocolates.
The hotel has the Dubliner attached which we didn't get to try but I have read some rave reviews. It was great to have onsite free teach and coffee making facilities in the lounge. When we departed, everyone wished us a pleasant vacation with a smile.
Put simply, I am so happy we chose this hotel. You will absolutely not be disappointed if you pick it, and it is now the only place we will stay if we visit Washington.

Took my 10-year old granddaughter to see the sites and the location was perfect. Across the street from the Postal Museum and one block to Union Station! We walked a short distant to the Capitol many times. Great city experience for her. The staff treated us like family. So helpful answering questions, smiles and all when we told of our day and even remembered my granddaughters birthday. Rooms were clean and bed good and boy did we get tired. No breakfast but lots of delis close by. Bus, metro and pedi cabs close and she got to experience it all. Thanks for the great stay
We rode in on Amtrak at 7:07 in the morning, grabbed our bags, and walked the short block to the Phoenix Park Hotel. Our room was ready, and we went right up. Although the hotel is downtown on a very busy street (the intersection of Massachusetts Ave and N Capitol St NW), our room was comfortable and quiet. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was divine. When visiting DC, you do a lot of walking, and a good bed at the end of the day is a must. Previously, we had stayed at the Washington Court Hotel, and while our stay there was very nice, we enjoyed the Phoenix Park Hotel even more. We especially liked The Dubliner, the hotel's truly Irish pub; great food, fine entertainment, and wonderful staff. We also liked the very close proximity to the DC Circulator bus stops (the end of three of their lines are at Union Station with transfers to the rest of the Circulator's routes) and the MetroRail Red Line (in Union Station). Our next trip to DC will definitely have us considering another stay at the Phoenix Park Hotel.

"ACT Chesapeake Chapter Seminar"
(Our event was a half-day seminar for an association that promotes commuting in other than a single occupant vehicle. It included light breakfast and lunch. This letter was addressed to the Director of Catering.) Annette, I'm sure you guys hear this all the time, but you really made us look good today! Got compliments on the food and people liked the hotel so much, I think we might plan our Chapter holiday party there. As we'd hoped, almost everyone either carpooled or took public transportation. John Kelly, Michael, the two women at the front desk and the doorman were super helpful and totally professional; I didn't catch the names of the banquet staff, but they were awesome as well! Most hotels will roll with you when there are changes or questions, but I somehow feel the Phoenix Park is just little bit more "Irish hospitable" than some other places! And, Annette, you're amazing to work with! I can't say enough about you and the whole experience...so please pass this on to whomever needs to know what an exceptional staff he/she has! Kelly W. "Great trip to DC!"
The Phoenix Park Hotel was terrific! It has been totally remodeled but the old charm of the historic hotels was present for sure! The staff at the front desk especially Brenda Ford was extremely nice and helpful with all questions! We rented a car and the valet service was terrific. We never waited long for the car to be brought to us . If we decided to take a quick cab as we did a few times for short distances where parking was not available such as at the Supreme Court they always got a cab for us in seconds! Everyone was really nice. We attended a reception party at the Dubliner restaurant that is also connected to the hotel and the drinks and food was good. The music each evening was fun in the Irish bar too! The hotel is within walking distance to Union Station and we met family who flew into DC and my husband and I took the train from Trenton NJ. It all worked out great. There are many shops and restaurants in Union Station as well, ATM for Bank of America if you need one. The hotel has a lovely area on the second floor to get your complimentary coffee each am along with a newspaper! We had a king room and the room was rather small, but it did have a refrigerator, a full ironing board, iron and also an umbrella in case of rain! The remodel was lovely and everything was so nice and clean. The rooms have nice large flat screen TVs. The hotel was also very quiet. We had a great time and we would stay there again!
"Weekend trip to DC"
The hotel was clean. The staff was very friendly! Our room was small but we were out sit seeing so it was not a big deal. The restaurant downstairs was fabulous. Lots of fun with a band and good music. Everyone was nice!
