"Great value for home away from home"
Hotel is beautiful, updated and charming. Rooms are cozy compared with others, but fully-furnished with a workspace, mini fridge, speedy wifi, cable, hairdryer and giant, cozy pillows - everything to make a quick business trip feel like home away from home. Tasty food is not hard to find in D.C.; but it's most easily accessible at the Dubliner just downstairs. The space is great, sure, but the warm, friendly staff is really what makes this hotel the best in D.C. I experienced a family emergency while traveling for business and had to check out of my room a day early to make the last flight out before morning. Low and behold, I got all the way to the airport and my flight was cancelled due to storms. I phoned the hotel, worried they wouldn't still have room available, but I was willing to pay even though I'd checked out early, I just didn't want to sleep in the airport. I was met with the most understanding and accommodating voice on the other end, Desiree, with whom I had checked out a few hours earlier. At that time, I'd told her that I was rushing off to the hospital on the next flight and somehow, she knew better and although she printed my receipt and check-out paper for me, she preserved my reservation on the off chance something went wrong at the airport, to ensure I'd have a place to sleep. She reassured me that it was no trouble; her colleague Fifi would receive me when I returned. I took the train back to the hotel and sure enough, Fifi greeted me with a key to my room when I walked in, apologizing for what I'd been through and asked if there was anything she could do to help. They went beyond just good customer service and provided authentic care and comfort. I was clearly stressed and struggling, so hopefully any human would respond the way these 2 did in this situation, but I received this same level of service upon check-in the first time. Outstanding! I'm grateful and will not only stay again, but recommend others do the same.

"Loved this Hotel!"
I used to stay here when on business years ago before the remodel. I was very pleasantly surprised with the upgrades the hotel had made. The room was fantastic, clean and very nicely done. The ac did a great job in keeping the room cool on a very hot day. The bed was very comfortable. Also the staff did a great job helping with a couple needs we had, very much exceeding all my expectations. Would definitely stay there again. Also the location is tremendous, a very short walk to Union station.

Great hotel to spend a few nights
We were only there for one night, and barely spent any time there. But the staff gladly helped us out with a few issues we had (including helping my girlfriend with a wardrobe issue), and the Irish Pub attached to it (The Dubliner) had some really good food, and poured a great pint of Guinness. The hostess there was also very helpful after overhearing me complain that I couldn't make up mind on what to get. I would definitely stay here again.

"Fantastic location, lovely staff"
The Phoenix Park hotel is incredibly conveniently located across the street from Union Station, and very close to the Capital. Nicely renovated, clean and comfortable. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly, especially Brenda at the front desk! The rooms are small but have everything you need - room to hang your clothes, fridge, safe and nice bathrooms. We enjoyed our all too brief stay very much.

“Weekend in DC”
We spent a quick weekend in DC. We took the train up, so a hotel close to Union Station was ideal. The Phoenix Park was a block from the hotel and a very easy walk. The hotel was very nice and the staff was great. We were going to dinner on Saturday night and needed a taxi. The front desk was able to get us a taxi and she even brought us out a couple of umbrellas as it had started to rain! Very helpful indeed.

Just wanted to compliment Antonio Fulton for his exceptional customer service in handling our reservation request. He went above and beyond to help us out in a difficult situation. Will definitely stay at the Phoenix Park when in town the next visit.
